Long Hairstyles, Summer HairstylesLayered Hairstyles for Long Hair
More and more women grow their hair long, and the long hair styles are really hot this year. Just follow the 2011 hair trends.
Break up the boring appearance of your long hairstyles and add a tint of groove by eliminating the extra weight from the tresses. What should you do then? Play up the defined layers or let them blend into the overall look with a drop of texturising paste! Depending on your preferences flip out the bangs as the perfect solution to sport yet another versatile look and show off your graduated cut. Subtle layers have the same effect as the more prominent ones when keeping the regular touch-ups.Celebrities are a good source for longer haircuts. Some of the most famous actresses have long or medium length hair

Polished and voluminous hair styles can be also created with the help of layers. Some people might be admirers of the polished and uptown looks that encourage the muted ends as well as super-smooth and softened texture of the hair.Long Soft layered hairstyles often share the trait of placing the uneven sections in the front area. The long bangs with a tint of groovy allure would reflect your fondness for feminine lines as well as sensual textures. Keep the hair conditioned and frizz-free with the proper hair care and styling products and spare your locks from constant exposure to hair styling tools. Instead play with the natural wavy, curly or sleek strands, let layers speak for yourself and enhance the beauty of your hair with a few hair dressing tricks.

Don't Fight Your Curls
Embrace your natural curls like Beyonce but avoid frizz by simply adding an anti-frizz serum to your morning hair routine. "I start off by adding a bit of Sebastian Potion 9 Lite Lightweight Wearable-Treatment Styler ($14; beautyencounter.com) to damp hair," says celebrity hairstylist Jeremy Clark, who then gently scrunches the hair while blow drying on low with a diffuser. "Don't comb it out!" he stresses. "Let it be natural and sexy."

Try a Cute Braid
Drew Barrymore and Charlize Theron recently joined the long list of stars sporting braids this season. No matter how you wear them, celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino says braids will hold better and longer if you "start out with wet hair, use a stronger gel than normal and spray with a little hair spray."

Don't Fear Your Flat Iron
Celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephen says the key to straight hair in the summer is a ceramic wet-to-dry flat iron. First, "apply a protecting spray, such as Motions Heat Seeker Protecting Spray ($23; amazon.com) to damp hair and then use the iron," she says. The iron helps lock in moisture and fight flyaways. Bonus tip: "After using the iron, apply the spray again on dry hair to help protect against the sun's UV rays."

Embrace Easy Updos
"An easy summer updo is a two second bun," says celebrity hairstylist Larry Sim. "Just grab your hair, twist it up and pin with two jumbo bobby pins. It's great because it doesn't have to be perfect and you can simply wear it at the nape of your neck (like Lauren Conrad at left)," he says.

Tame Stubborn Bangs
"Bangs have a tendency to go all frizzy and wild if you're somewhere with a lot of humidity," says celebrity hairstylist Jeremy Clark. "I found the answer is to spray them with an anti-humidity product like Oleo-Relax Voile Fixateur by Kerastase ($34; kerastase-usa.com) and blow dry on low." He also recommends pinning them off to the side if you're in need of extra hold.

Don't Let Ponytails Cause Damage
Ponytails will run rampant this summer and to keep breakage to a minimum try bungee elastics ($5/4; rickysnyc.com)—known for doing less damage than regular elastics. "You don't have to pull hair through them, which makes your hair less prone to snags, and the hook closures give you the control to make them as tight as you like," says celebrity hairstylist Staci Child.

Instructions For Fishtail Ponytail
The steps are basically the same. Although the Fishtail ponytail looks tricky, it consists of a simple two strand braid that is created starting at the top of the base of a ponytail.

One hint is to try to keep all the sections equal in thickness and to pull each strand tightly to give the uniform herringbone appearance.

Step One: Start by pulling all hair back into a ponytail. It should be noted that this braid works best on dry hair that is medium to very long in length and is not layered.

Step Two: Divide the ponytail into two equal sections of hair. Take a small (approximately 1 inch section) from underneath the left section of hair and cross it over the right section of hair.

Step Three: While holding the ponytail securely with your left thumb and allow the right side of your hand to be free and then take a small section (same approximate size as the previous section) from underneath the right side.

Step Four: Cross the section from underneath the right over to the left side of your hair. While holding the right side securely with your right thumb, continue steps 2-4 until you reach the end of the ponytail. Secure the remaining "tail hair" with a "hair friendly" elastic band.

The braid can be adorned with gorgeous hair jewels such as rhinestone hair pins or other rhinestone jewelry. It can aslo be worn "as is". This style is easy, simple, fast and the results are stunning.

Allow plenty of "tail" at the end of the fishtail braid or else there is a danger that the elastic band may work its way out of place and the braid may loosen or fall out.

This hair style looks especially stunning on thick hair that has lots of contrasting colors that are emphasized with the tied hair pieces.

The style can be worn in a variety of modified ways including wearing bangs or side tendrils.
